About
Hi! We are Agni & Amrita, a creative duo with a passion for exploring the world and a shared love for discovering the hidden treasures the world has to offer.
Those close to us, often describe us to be an eccentric, adventurer, and storytellers. To us, life is indeed a thrilling episode meant to be lived fully and happily. We have been traveling together for more than 15 years and have learnt innumerable valuable life lessons during these times.
We are always on the lookout for adventure, be it tasting new food, exploring a new place or trying to find history behind our heritage! When not in civilization, you might find us with our backpacks and camera, trekking in the wilderness of Himalayas, enjoying some colourful festival or in some obscure and nondescript place in the heartwarming company of a gracious host.
Know Us
We were born in India, a country that is known for its rich heritage and culture. We grew up in quite different environments. While I had been traveling since I was 2 years old, Agni was traveled out of his home state only in his university days.
From “You and I” to “Us”
It doesn’t matter where you are going, it’s who you have beside you.
She said ‘Hi’ in 2003, ‘Yes’ in 2006 and finally they said, “I do” in 2011. And the rest, as they say, is history!
We met at the University and it was a crazy ride thereafter.
We started traveling together since 2009 and never looked back since. We have backpacked extensively across India and we can proudly say that only a few have traveled across India as extensively as us. And now we continue to discover the world together—one destination, one experience, and one unforgettable memory at a time.
Our first trip together was to Darjeeling. Our next trip was to Ooty where we travelled without taking any winter wear. The moment we got down from the bus, we were shivering in cold.
We had once got stuck in a communal riot in Jammu and Kashmir, something that was totally beyond our control. And it was here where our belief in humanity was firmly established. It was here we experienced compassion and hospitality that transcend differences in race, religions and opinions.
What Travel Is For Us
Traveling is often associated with picturesque landscapes, iconic monument and buzzing tourist attractions. And in today’s world of envy-inducing snapshots and awe-inspiring reels, the real essence of exploration seem to have been hidden somewhere.
For us, travel is one of the greatest teacher and the lessons we learn here are beyond the scope of textbooks and guidebooks. Travel to us is about embracing the spontaneity and surrendering to the unfamiliar. It is about letting go of our preconceived notions and expectations and opening ourselves to the adventure that lies ahead of us.
But perhaps the most important thing about travel is that it teaches us valuable lessons about ourselves and the world we live in. it challenges to confront our fears, break down our barriers and broaden our perspectives. After all, it was only when we visited Andaman, I conquered my fear of water and did scuba diving in spite of not knowing how to swim.
During all these years of travel, we had made plenty of mistakes and lots of wrong choices. Missed flights, wrong dates, terrible plans – we did them all. And sometimes situations just go out of our control. And we kept learning from our mistakes.
After all, travel has a transformative power that extends beyond the duration of the journey itself. In the end, it is not about the tick off on your bucket list. Rather it is the intangible moments – the friendships forged, the laughter as well as the tears experienced on the roads that linger long after the trip had ended.
As we traveled, we met new people, made friends, unlearn concepts, participated in traditional ceremonies, learnt about age-old crafts and simply engaged in heartfelt conversation with the locals.
Having experienced that, we can easily say that travel is one of the best forms of education for people of all ages. Travel teaches us to listen more, judge less, love without boundaries and open the mind to new perspectives and possibilities.
Ultimately, travel is a journey of self-discovery—a journey that transforms us, challenges us, and reminds us of the boundless possibilities that await beyond the confines of our comfort zones. The next time you are scrolling through a feed of envy inducing locations, remember that the true magic of travel lies not in the perfect pixels on a screen, but in the moments lived, the lessons learned, and the connections forged along the way.
